The Philippines is filled with scenic beaches and a rich natural reserve that shines throughout Southeast Asia. Apart from world-renowned tourist spots like Palawan, Boracay, and Batanes, there’s a ton more to see in the country beyond sand, sun, and sea.
Antok, Benguet’s Hidden Gem
The Northern part of the Philippines, particularly in Atok, Benguet is a place several locals and a few tourists have gone to see. Located in the heart of Benguet province, the colder region of the country boasts a young tourist spot, but also a hidden gem is known as the Northern Blossoms Flower Farm.
This much-hyped flower farm has been getting attention on social media and has eventually become one of the local curiosities people are going up to the mountains to come to see. The Northern Blossoms Flower Farm is owned by a couple, tended by Mrs. Melany Ganayan where they grow their flowers to sell in their flower shop in Dimasalang, Manila in the metro.
A Panoramic Beauty of Mountain Flora
A variety of stunning flora is found in this mountain top some of which include rare finds apart from the beautiful roses, snapdragons, larkspurs, rice flower, Matthiola, and cabbage roses among vast others.
Visiting Benguet, of course, comes in seasons and the best time to do so is from January to April where the flowers in the flower farm are in full bloom. If you want an even more memorable visit, come up during sunrise and see how the sun and flowers meet the light of day. Apart from great Instagram photos of the flowers and the mountain views of Mt. Pulag and Mt. Timbak, you’ll also get a work out from the hike up.
Cast your eyes at a hidden gem of beauty
A great way to travel is by exploring domestic attraction is by supporting local tourism. Benguet is one of the most promising places to visit when traveling around the Philippines, with a superb view of the top two tallest mountains in Luzon, and a gorgeous panorama of blossoming flora, every step up is truly worth the sights. Explore the colder parts of the Philippines and come see the Northern Blossoms Flower Farm the next time you’re visiting Baguio as Antok is just a bus ride away.
